Wynne Henderson

Wynne Henderson

Strategic Adviser

Wynne has a long and successful career in the Energy Industry in Australia and overseas over the last 28 years. He has worked for major electricity companies including Sydney Electricity, Energy Australia, Austa Energy and Tarong Energy, from 1991 – 2005, playing a leading role in their transformation to Government Owned Corporations, which needed to become profitable, agile businesses in a new, deregulated energy industry. In the early 1990’s, Wynne saw a market opportunity for traditional energy utilities to become more customer focused with their industrial and commercial clients by providing unique value added services. As a result, Wynne established the first utility based Energy Services Company (ESCO) for Sydney Electricity in Australia in 1995, and as the General Manager of this business, he established the first ESCO Industry Association, and became its inaugural President and Board Member for many years. In 2005, Wynne led a Management Buyout of the ESCO within Tarong Energy Corporation, and established Total Energy Solutions Pty Ltd (TES) as a privately owned, independent ESCO, operating in Qld, NSW and Victoria. TES became one of the leading ESCO’s in Australia over the next 10 years, providing Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy design and construct services for major end users of energy, such as Industrial sites, hospitals, hotels, universities and commercial buildings. As the Managing Director until late 2015, Wynne played the leadership role in the company, with responsibility for its Strategic Planning & Direction, the Marketing, Sales and the Human Resources Management of the company.

In addition, Wynne continued to advise and contribute to the expansion of the Australian ESCO industry association and played an active role in its advisory involvement with state and federal governments. Over time, the ESCO industry association became known as the Energy Efficiency Council. During his role as Managing Director of TES, Wynne lead the expansion of TES related companies into operations in Shanghai, China and Manila, Philippines. For over the last 28 years, Wynne has championed the role of Triple Bottom Line outcomes for companies operating in the Energy Industry, and in his new business, Energy and Sustainability Consulting, established in 2019, he continues to advocate and create sustainable outcomes for his clients. Wynne is now providing his Strategic Planning expertise to Bluenergy to assist the company with its expansion into the Asia Pacific Region.
